A Buddhist site

Chandabali is situated on the  left bank of Baitarani river at a distance of 120 kms from Balasore. It was the most important river port of Orissa, though its trade diminished since the opening of the  railway.

Goddess Dakeswari is installed in a temple and is widely revered by the sea-faring people. The image of Dakeswari is a representation of twelve -armed  Mahisamardhani Durga. There are a few archeological remains including Buddhist Avalokiteswara, Jaina Trihankara and Bramhinical Goddess.
