The AssemblyOASME is a common forum for cottage, tiny, small and medium sector enterprises in Orissa. It is affiliated to the World Assembly of Small & Medium Enterprises (WASME).This Assembly is also a member of Associated Chamber of Commerce & Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), and Indian Council of Small Industries. The Assembly has more than 800 members from all over the State.
The Assembly:
organises seminars, symposiums, group discussions, industrial exhibitions workshops and training programmes for the growth of industries.
sponsors delegations to different trade fairs, conferences and meetings at the national and international level .
provides guidance and free consultancy to entrepreneurs for setting up industries in the State.
takes up individual and sectoral problems through its various committees.
represents the SSIs and MSIs of Orissa at the Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO), Orissa Small Industries Corporation Limited(OSIC), Small Industries Service Institute (SISI), Central Excise & Customs, Central Board for Workers Education, Minimum Wage Advisory Board, Plant Level Ancillary Advisory Committees of NALCO, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Indian Rare Earth Limited, Roukela Steel Plant, Paradeep Phosphate Limited, Fertiliser Corporation of India and Mahanadi Coalfields Limited
publishes profiles and journals to dessimate information to entrepreneurs.
